Hello,
Lacey, the boys, and I ordered from GioBatta Alimentari in Red Hook and ate some Fra Diavolo, chicken parmigiana, and marsala.
It was delicious.
Chef Buitoni's noodles really are something special.
What we like best is that they're using ingredients from both local farmers and from their family farm back home in Italy.
And Lacey, the boys, and I love promoting #TakeoutThursday.
We definitely enjoy delicious, local cuisine -- and upstate New York offers some of the best.
But around here, it's about more than just good food.
Our local restaurants have always been where folks come together -- to share news, to meet other people, to celebrate family, or to grab a cup of coffee or a bite before work. The sense of community in our local dining scene is one of the many reasons why we're proud to call this region home.
Since we started #TakeoutThursday, so many of you have sent us your own recommendations. When Lacey and I read these endorsements for local eats, it's easy to picture you all smiling and reminiscing about the last time you ate there.
So, in addition to our recommendation of GioBatta Alimentari in Red Hook, here's a list of a few places folks have emailed us about and asked us to share throughout NY-19:
- Taro's in Millerton
- La Bella's in Valatie
- Great Life Brewing Company in Kingston
- The People's Pub in Chatham
- La Casa Latina in Catskill
- Cinnamon in Rhinebeck
- Mckinney and Doyle in Pawling
- Violet's Bakery in Saugerties
Now it's on us to give local restaurant owners and their staff a smile by supporting them as best we can through the COVID-19 crisis.
If you'd like to send us a recommendation, reply to this email or tweet at us with the hashtag #TakeoutThursday -- and please include a photo!
Thank you for helping restaurants and workers by providing some much needed business. If you can, please continue to help our local food industry weather this storm. Every time we order and enjoy their delicious cooking, we're easing the burden and keeping our communities alive.
Thank you,
Antonio
