I'm writing to you today to remind you about two alarming bills introduced by the Kentucky GOP that threatens the well-being of our families and children.
First, the Kentucky House GOP passed HB 255, a bill that would weaken child labor laws. This legislation would:
- Allow children to work longer hours
- Remove GPA requirements for student workers
- Potentially exploit our youth instead of protecting them
But that's not all. In a cruel double blow, they also put forward HB 367, which aims to kick families off SNAP. Let's break down what this means:
- 588,000 Kentuckians, including 256,000 children, rely on SNAP for survival

The Kentucky GOP's message is clear: they want our children working longer hours while simultaneously making it harder for families to put food on the table. This is not the Kentucky we want or deserve.
Not a single Kentucky Democrat supported either of these heartless bills.
