Bringing hope and health to camp residents
Dear John,
Earlier this week I shared with you Part 2 in a three-part video series I made to share my daily life working in refugee camps in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). If you watched, you saw what Ipas’s mobile health clinics look like.

These clinics are lifelines to women and girls who need time-sensitive reproductive health care—including abortion. But they can’t access the services we offer if they don’t know we’re here. That’s where a big part of my job comes in: I make connections across the community.

I chat with women going about their daily lives to better understand their challenges and the kinds of health services they need. And I work closely with Ipas DRC’s youth-led partner, Youth Sprint, which runs a network of Ipas DRC-trained youth volunteers who educate people in the camps about sexual and reproductive health. These dedicated volunteers make sure people know how to come to our mobile clinic when in need.

I invite you to watch Part 3 of my video series ([link removed]) and see what community engagement work really looks like.

Right now, we’re hoping to expand the number of mobile clinics and outreach efforts we support in these camps—because, quite honestly, the need is overwhelming.

You can be a part of the solution. Will you make a donation today to support our work bringing abortion access to crisis settings like my region of the DRC?
