There are four other candidates in this race – all of whom are men. The other leading candidate, Danny Avula, has a disturbing record of homophobia and “pro-life” sentiments. He’s a member and leader of a church that has proudly partnered with a conversion therapy organization. 🤮 In his professional capacity, at the Richmond Department of Health, he cut back on family planning services. He oversaw publication of a “Pregnancy Help Card” that directed patients to “crisis pregnancy centers” but failed to list “abortion” in a list of patients’ options in a crisis.

Recent polls have shown that Michelle is the best-known candidate and is leading the race, but we cannot take that for granted. We must ensure that voters turn out and cast their ballots for Michelle.
