Friend, I’m reaching out to you from New Orleans, Louisiana, where the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals is hearing an argument in Texas and other anti-immigrant states’ continued effort to dismantle DACA.

The potential consequences of this case cannot be overstated — a ruling against DACA would threaten the futures of hundreds of thousands of immigrant youth.

We’re at the courthouse today alongside hundreds of DACA recipients and immigrant youth from across the country. We’re showing up in support of our partner organization, Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF), representing DACA recipients who have intervened in Texas’s lawsuit, because DACAmented peoples’ lives and their dreams matter. They are a vital part of our communities, and their home is here.

For over a decade, DACA has provided life-changing protections for more than 834,000 young immigrants. But from the start, DACA was only a temporary fix. A permanent solution — a pathway to citizenship — rests in the hands of Congress.

As we rally in New Orleans, there is something important that I’m asking you to do too. Please use your voice to demand that Congress take action. It’s important that today of all days, Congress hears from members of the public who stand with DACA recipients and immigrant youth.

FriendFirst Name: Friend, send a message to your representatives that they can’t delay any longer. It’s past time for Congress to do what’s right: pass a permanent pathway to citizenship for immigrant youth.
