Another Black man has been killed while being Black, John.

On Sunday Feb 23rd, in the middle of the day, Ahmaud Arbery was killed
while out for a midday jog near his home. He was chased down by two white
men who jumped into a pickup truck with a shotgun and a .357 and hunted
Ahmaud down like he was prey. They attacked Ahmaud in the street and shot
him at point-blank.

On Tuesday of this week, video was finally released showing everything as
it happened.

Up to this day there have been no arrests made in this case. Over 2 months
since the shooting and not one person has been arrested, even though the
shooters were on the scene when the local cops arrived, and at least one
of them was still armed.

One of the shooters is a retired police officer, so several local District
Attorneys have recused themselves. That didn't stop one DA who recused
himself from issuing a statement that said “McMichael and his son (the
shooters) were within their rights to use deadly force because Georgia is
a stand your ground state.”

What about chasing down an unarmed innocent man, while he is out jogging,
is standing your ground?

It's not. It's murder.

They got in their pickup truck, hunted him down, and murdered him in the
street with a shotgun.

The real question is why isn't anyone being held accountable? Well, now
with the release of the video, public pressure is building and it's
working. Georgia's Governor said Tuesday that "Georgians deserve answers,"
but words mean nothing if not backed up by action.

When Black life is made so cheap, that even before any investigation is
launched a district attorney can say that these white men had the right to
chase down and kill an unarmed and innocent Black man, then we are
ourselves obligated to stand our ground in demanding accountability.

We will get justice if we don't give up.

I know, I can count on you to stand up and never stop fighting for change.
