Fossil fuel pollution is the primary driver of the climate crisis, leading to devastating consequences such as fires, floods, hurricanes, species extinction, and more. These climate disasters are already hitting communities along the Gulf of Mexico the hardest, where fossil fuel expansion is disproportionately and deliberately concentrated. We must speak out against this disastrous proposal. If completed, Texas GulfLink could export up to 1 million barrels of crude oil every day, contributing an additional 3.8 billion metric tons of climate-warming pollution throughout its 30-year lifetime once the transported oil is burned. Food & Water Watch works every day with allies and volunteers like you to end fossil fuels. We’re fighting to ban fracking in Pennsylvania, block oil and gas exports along the Gulf Coast, and stop pipelines in New York. Through those local campaigns, we’re building the political power to transition to 100% clean energy everywhere. I was born and raised in Houston, TX, my family is from Baton Rouge, LA and I lived through many of the worst storms the Gulf has seen. The degradation of the Gulf Coast and the assault on our climate is personally heartbreaking. Through campaigns like these, we are fighting back for the future of our planet.
