Hi John,
My name is Patti Lynn, and I recently moved back to my hometown, Philadelphia, PA. While settling in, I was looking for a way to get involved and plug into my new community during this critical political moment when I found the Working Families Party.
I signed up to canvass with the Pennsylvania WFP even though I wasn’t sure what to expect, and honestly, I was nervous. But once I was out knocking on doors, it was incredibly energizing.
Not only did I get to meet some really great people in my new neighborhood, but I also saw firsthand how powerful face-to-face conversations can be in mobilizing voters and driving change. Getting out to talk with voters in Philly helps me turn my anxiety about this election into action that can make a difference. In fact, I just got back from my third shift!
If (like me!) you’ve ever thought about getting involved but felt unsure about where to start — don’t worry! WFP provides all the support you need to make your canvass successful, fun, and easy. And the best part? You’ve got options! Whether you want to canvass locally or travel to a swing state, there’s a way for you to get involved that fits your style and schedule.
Here are three ways you can jump in:
-
Join a Local WFP or Allied Canvass
Find a canvass happening near you and join others in your community to knock on doors and connect with voters. Click here to find your nearest canvass and get involved!
-
Travel with WFP and Seed the Vote
Travel with WFP and Seed the Vote to a crucial swing state like Wisconsin, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, or Pennsylvania. If you don't live in a swing state, don't worry! Our partner organization, Seed the Vote, can help you with travel, housing, and connecting with local grassroots groups running powerful door-knocking programs in states like Arizona, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Nevada. This is a game-changing way to directly impact key races in the states that matter most. Sign up here to get more info and be part of something big.
-
Knock Your Block
Want to stay local but still make an impact? Sign up to canvass your own neighborhood with friends! We’ll help you make a plan, provide all the materials you need, and support you every step of the way. Make a plan and get support to knock your block with WFP.
Canvassing is one of the most effective ways to make a difference — and we need all hands on deck as we approach this critical election. Don’t let the thought of canvassing intimidate you. Whether it’s your first time or you’re a seasoned pro, you’ll have the support and tools you need to succeed. And trust me, nothing beats the feeling of knowing you’re helping to build political power for a better future.
So, are you in? We’d love to have you join us! Click here for the Canvassing with WFP Toolkit.
Together, we can make sure every vote counts.
In solidarity,
Patti Lynn
