John, Hurricane Milton has rapidly intensified on Florida’s Gulf Coast and is set to strike the west coast of Florida later tonight and into tomorrow as a Category 4 hurricane.


This comes just as children and families are beginning their recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene – the devastating major hurricane that claimed over 230 lives in recent weeks.


As Hurricane Milton continues to make its way across the Gulf, we’re providing a quick update on this rapidly developing emergency.

In the U.S., our emergency response staff is monitoring the situation and:

Collaborating with local, state and national partners to address children's needs as soon as it's safe to do so

Preparing essential items like diapers, wipes, hygiene kits and school kits to distribute to impacted communities
