Dear ,

In case you missed it, we co-presented Black Future Newsstand in Chicago last Friday, in partnership with Media2070 and Black River Life. Black Future Newsstand is a custom-built art installation that reflects the fullness and wholeness of intersectional Black Chicago love, designed to immerse visitors in a future-media landscape where Chicago news, art, and technology honor our defiant past and invite an abundant future.

We welcomed over 500 organizers, artists, and community members to our installation, including local media workers, who covered our day on WGN9 and Block Club Chicago.

Learn How Our Installation Celebrates Black Stories and Media
As our Narrative and Communications Director, Eteng Ettah noted:
"My hope is that folks will see that a media system that we're trying to create isn't actually that far-fetched of an idea, which we've replicated in this space."
Installations like Black Future Newsstand dare us to dream of a future where power and ownership of media and technology are more widely controlled and influenced by social movements. That’s why we hope you'll join us in our new strategy, #ShiftingTerrain, which builds a people-centered landscape that drives us towards a liberatory future.

In collective solidarity,
