In a moment, we’ll ask you to read about a courageous wish kid named Rosie – whose story is one of bravery, resilience and heartfelt generosity. But before we do, we have to ask you this:

This month, as kids across the country excitedly head back to their classrooms for a new school year, there are so many wish kids like TJ who can’t go back to school with their friends and classmates this year because of a critical illness.

And kids like Soraya, who face unfathomable hardship due to her critical illness that impacts her whole family.

That’s why this is such an important time of year here at Make-A-Wish®. We’re hard at work granting as many wishes as possible, as quickly as possible, for kids who are missing out on crucial pieces of their childhood. Because these wishes are so much more than a fun day. They provide kids with the strength and hope they need to persevere through their darkest moments.

It’s the generosity of this community that makes our mission possible. That’s why we’re eager to share more updates about wish kids like TJ and Soraya in this month’s newsletter – along with more opportunities for you to make an impact.

Thank you for all you do.

Wishfully yours,
Mary English Bell

During years of cancer treatments, overnight hospital stays and separation from his family members, TJ would watch countless videos about outer space – a place he has always been fascinated by for its vastness and mystery – to help take his mind off of what he was going through.

Now, after a long wait, TJ finally got to blast off into outer space during an unforgettable trip to a space center. His wish gave him hope and joy when he needed those most – and an even deeper level of strength to keep pushing through his treatments.

It was a wish day for the books, and it wouldn’t have been possible without your support. That’s why we put together a photo album for you to explore the out-of-this-world experience that you brought to life for TJ:

The Power of a Wish and Airline Travel

Soraya, who lives with an undiagnosed neuromuscular disorder, faced immense challenges that left her and her family feeling defeated at times. But when Soraya wished to go to the beach, a whole new world of possibilities opened up. Thanks to the generosity of our airline partners, Soraya's family embarked on a memorable adventure that culminated in an unforgettable moment – Soraya taking surfing lessons and mastering the waves with a beaming smile.
This experience was more than just a wish fulfilled; it was a transformative journey that brought Soraya and her family closer together, infusing their lives with renewed hope and joy. As her mom, Tasha, shared, "It’s not just a one-time gift; it impacts us every day after.”
During Airline Travel Month, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our airline partners for making wishes like Soraya’s possible, creating ripples of positivity that continue to uplift families long after their wish journey ends.
