FAMM has received many questions from our members concerned for their incarcerated loved ones in the wake of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. We wanted to reach out and share how you can ask for help and more information.
Below, you’ll find direct phone numbers to the Federal Bureau of Prisons and six state Departments of Corrections: Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. We’re sharing these numbers in case you have any urgent concerns regarding your loved one's health, safety, and well-being. -

We encourage you to call these numbers with any questions or concerns you have for your loved ones or for anyone incarcerated during these storms. We are aware of stories about people in prison being left behind in evacuation areas. We will follow up in the coming weeks on how to take action and ensure that the safety and well-being of our incarcerated loved ones are prioritized during emergency situations like these two devastating storms.
