Join us for an evening dedicated to honoring visionary leaders, courageous journalists, and steadfast advocates who have proudly championed truth, justice, and equality for the Muslim community.
This year, we are honored to present Senator Bernie Sanders with the Lifetime Achievement Award and posthumously recognize Shireen Abu Akleh with an Empowering Voices Award. Sanders and the late Abu Akleh dedicated their lives to pursuing justice and truth. Senator Sanders has spent decades advocating for racial, social, and economic equity. Up until her unjust death, Shireen Abu Akleh courageously devoted her life to reporting on the oppression and injustices experienced by the Palestinian people. Their contributions are a testament to the importance of speaking truth to power.
UK Member of Parliament Naz Shah will also join us as a featured speaker at this year’s Empowering Voices Awards. Shah has been a tireless advocate for equality, justice, and the rights of marginalized communities, speaking out against far-right attacks on Muslims and minority groups. Her dedication to combating Islamophobia, xenophobia, and systemic racism has made her a powerful voice in the UK and beyond.
