John, the Conservatives have just picked their final two leadership contenders: two failed former ministers who will take the Conservatives even further to the right.

On one side, Kemi Badenoch, who thinks maternity pay is excessive and that some civil servants should be thrown in prison.

On the other, Robert Jenrick, who said he would vote for Donald Trump and falsely accused the special forces of killing rather than capturing terrorists.

No matter who wins, both are tainted by years of Conservative chaos and neglect.

Our country deserves so much better, John.

Today, Ed Davey showed the positive change we can deliver, challenging Keir Starmer at Prime Minister’s Questions over Europe and the need to support a Youth Mobility Scheme to help young people work and travel across the EU.

That’s the voice the British people deserve in Parliament.
