According to a recent Barna study, only 52% of Christians plan to vote in this election – a significant decline from previous cycles. These believers cite a disinterest in “politics” or a general dislike of the major candidates as reasons for their planned lack of participation? But, what does that abstention mean in reality? It means that this election – and the issues and outcomes it will determine – will be decided with less influence from those who understand our obligations to God, sin nature, and the value of the Imago Dei. At Frontline Policy Council, we believe this “sideline attitude” cannot be the Church’s positioning for such a time as this! That’s why we have 3 distinct ways to help you and your church:
Now is the time for God’s Church to be distinct and to carry forward an unashamed Christian witness to our culture. That means we shouldn’t sound like the rest of the world – beholden to a Party, dependent on a candidate, or desperately clinging to political answers for our hope and joy. It does mean, however, that we should love our neighbor enough to vote to protect the Imago Dei, to do right for the future of our communities, state, and nation, and to advance the issues so clear in God’s Word. Join us. Defy the trends. And, make the difference. I believe now is the time for the Church to speak loudly with boldness and clarity.
