That's how much maternal deaths rose in Texas after the state banned abortion — even with an exception for the life of the mother.

As an OB/GYN who's fought to provide the full scope of reproductive care to my patients for years, this is what I feared abortion bans would bring.

That's why, when the MAGA Supreme Court struck down Roe in 2022, I signed onto a lawsuit to block Wisconsin's 1849 abortion ban. I refused to let women in this state die .

It's also why no matter what my opponent says, there is no such thing as a "moderate" abortion ban. Texas is proof that exceptions don't work — women still die.

When I raised my hand to become a doctor and pledged to do no harm, I never thought I'd sue my home state. I never thought I'd run for Congress.

But anti-choice politicians made it impossible for me to fulfill my oath.

Now, their interference is killing women across this country.
