Random thoughts about the past week

Greetings,

As President Obama’s chief of staff once said, “Never let a Crisis go to waste. " There is no proof that some still follow that philosophy!

The Storm

·      We pray for all who have been affected by and harmed by the storm and its aftermath and for souls that have been lost.

·      We pray for the goodwill of neighbors and strangers to help those suffering.

·      Thanks to those willing to assist those in need at the drop of a hat, such as God’s Pit Crew out of the Danville area and Franklin Graham’s Samarian’s Purse.

That commitment to others inspired my husband and me to reach out and help Virginians who were affected by the storm. While only two in our state died from the storm, many homes and businesses were destroyed. We reached out to contacts in Southwest Virginia and offered to bring needed supplies in our trailer to help them. We appreciate those who wanted to help from our area.

·      It is interesting to know that national media has been reporting again and again that there is no way to get into or out of Asheville. Meanwhile, McDonald’s and Chick-fil-A were restocking their restaurants in Asheville by Wednesday. How is this Possible? The same reports indicated that the airport had closed, yet American Airlines had already started flying into the city.

·      With Fort Bragg (Fort Liberty) only four hours away and 4,500 troops on alert to go assist, no one has acted. Put that in perspective that over the years paratroopers were flown to Blackstone for training exercises. The question comes to mind: why weren’t they deployed to Western Carolina to assist those in need?

·      Why were many motel rooms filled with federal FEMA staff, leaving no rooms for families with infant children? It seems like the humane thing to do is to make rooms available to those who need them most.

·      Elon Musk’s Starlink has worked with the churches to provide communication for those in need. Consider the Secretary of Transportation; he warned drone users not to help because the government knows best, even though they were doing little for those most needing help. Why?

The Middle East

·      President Biden, the Vice President, and the Governor of Minnesota have all said they support Israel but talk out of both sides of their mouths. Meanwhile, they are calling for a cease-fire.

·      If Biden had put pressure on Israel, it would have prevented the offensive acts that have taken place in the last week. Without Israel’s action, the Lebanese and Iran terrorists would continue to destroy Israel.

·      Without Israel’s backbone, the British would not have taken action. They have had to rein in the terrorists in Yemen. Why have the American military forces been watching attack after attack for over a year?

·      Without pushback, Iran is free to attack directly or indirectly the nation of Israel.

The Ports.

·      Considering the dilemma of Helene's natural disaster, how could President Biden come out and immediately refuse to call for a cooling-off period to avoid a port strike?

·      Considering the number of automobiles that Helene destroyed, could anything be more offensive than the President of the Union gloating that there would be no cars for sale?

·      Imagine if it was your family who needed building supplies to repair your home or business.

·      Who is in charge? Is there nothing more important to Biden than politics? Is that greater than life itself? His actions and non-actions are truly despicable when people are struggling and suffering.
