John, I
debated my Republican opponent, Steve Garvey, last night.

And frankly, it sounded like Donald Trump and the authors of Project 2025
were talking every time Garvey opened his mouth.

From housing and the economy to reproductive freedoms and climate change,
Garvey’s position on the issues is not in line with what Californians want
— it’s what Donald Trump wants. Garvey supports state bans on abortion,
has an “open the spigots” policy on oil, opposes all gun safety
legislation, and wants to cut Social Security and Medicare.

Meanwhile, I’ve delivered for Californians while holding Donald Trump to
account for his attacks on our democracy.

I have bold plans to make housing more affordable for millions of
Californians. I have a proven record of lowering healthcare costs. I have
the proposals to reform our campaign finance system and defend voting
rights. And I have fought for our Constitution when Donald Trump — and his
enablers — violate the law and desecrate our democracy.

Garvey’s performance at the debate tells the MAGA viewers that he’s one of
them. That he’ll fall in line behind GOP leadership to vote exactly how
Donald Trump wants him to.

John, as I
said last night, Californians aren't looking for a MAGA Mini-Me in a
baseball uniform.

This debate performance tells us that Steve Garvey will never take his
oath of office seriously.
