Please know, Tatiana's story is hard to read. She was only 4 years old when a teenage neighbor raped her. Her parents knew what happened but instead of reporting it, they moved to a new home, trying to leave what he did to her behind. But painful memories are hard to move away from.

That’s why Tatiana is so passionate about working with Mi Historia Importa (My Story Matters), a survivor group supported by IJM in Guatemala, thanks to people like you.

“This group has given me the hope I need to know that I can enjoy my life and has filled me with the passion and commitment I need to fight against any type of violence,” Tatiana says.

John, thanks to our compassionate supporters, IJM can help rescue, restore and protect children and women from violence. Today, Tatiana coaches survivors who want to use their voice to stand up for other women vulnerable to violence.
