** The priority for Team Harris is making sure hurricane recovery efforts are zero-emission. That their efforts are of zero-help is apparently of little concern.

Not The Bee ([link removed]) (10/8/24) article: "My friends, we have reached peak government inefficiency: 'The government shipped up 3 pallets of electric chainsaws to us in a community without power.' The original poster said his community in Little Switzerland, North Carolina, received these chainsaws from a U.S. Army Chinook helicopter...and that it has been the only government assistance their community has received...I love it, but here's a radical idea: Imagine if we came together as communities and voted for people who would govern civil society and help us when natural disasters hit. Imagine if an entity like that existed. We could call it 'govern-ment.'"

** "Florida’s experience shows the value of investing in resilience rather than pie-in-the-sky green technology: In less than a week Florida restored electricity to 99% of those who lost power in Hurricane Helene, and it is now helping neighboring states with disaster recovery. "

The people of Texas will make the right choice.
** Fox News ([link removed])
(10/8/24) reports: "Ted Cruz and Colin Allred are locked in a tight race to represent Texas in the United States Senate. Polls show Allred and Cruz are only separated by a few points. Here is what you need to know about the candidates and where they stand on the key issues that matter most to Texans, according to a recent poll from the University of Texas at Austin-Texas Politics Project...Energy...Ted Cruz has been skeptical about Allred's support for the oil and gas industry, saying the Congressman has flip-flopped on his energy record. 'When Joe Biden and Kamala Harris came into office, they have waged a war against oil and gas and energy in the State of Texas and Colin Allred over and over and over again has voted against oil and gas jobs in Texas,' Cruz said. Ted Cruz says he will continue to fight to protect Texas' oil and energy jobs. 'Texas is the energy capital of the United States, and protecting the energy industry is a top priority for Texas voters. The industry is the reason
Texas is an economic powerhouse, and it provides countless jobs for Texans,' said a Cruz campaign spokesperson in a statement. The American Energy Alliance has endorsed Cruz in the race."

I will not eat green hydrogen PFAS eggs and ham!
** Politico ([link removed])
(10/8/24) reports: "This summer, residents of the northern French town of Villers-Saint-Paul received a disturbing warning: Don't eat your chickens' eggs. Tests had revealed that local eggs contained a cocktail of potentially dangerous PFAS, or 'forever chemicals,' a group of man-made substances that do not break down and can cause serious health problems including cancer, liver damage and fertility issues. How did these toxic chemicals get into the eggs? The answer was not entirely clear, but suspicion fell on a nearby factory run by U.S. chemicals giant Chemours, which produces PFAS. Ironically, it was Chemours itself that had conducted the tests under an agreement with the regional authorities. Maintaining locals' trust was especially important to the company at the time as it was planning a €186 million expansion to start producing PFAS chemicals vital in manufacturing green hydrogen — a carbon-free fuel that is central to Europe's decarbonization plans and the global fight against
climate change. If these potentially dangerous chemicals were polluting local food, it could put hydrogen's social licence in jeopardy."
