Tomorrow at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT, as part of the Cancel Comstock Coalition, we’re partnering with our friends at the Progressive Caucus Action Fund and Healthcare Across Borders to host a virtual briefing on one of this country’s oldest zombie laws, the Comstock Act.

Comstock is a century-old “anti-obscenity” law that right-wing extremists want to use to ban abortion nationwide… without a single vote in Congress. Last week, we invited you to sign the petition urging Congress to hold a vote on the Stop Comstock Act so they don’t have the chance — and thousands of you joined the call.

This week, we're diving even deeper into our organizing efforts as our president, Sarah Lipton-Lubet, joins Rep. Becca Balint (D-VT), author of the Stop Comstock Act, and other experts in law, policy, and public health for a panel discussion surrounding Comstock. The conversation will cover Comstock’s potential consequences, attempts by anti-abortion extremists to “resurrect” it, and how we are building momentum to get rid of this archaic law.
