Dear JOhn,

As World Food Day approaches, I always find it’s important to pause to reflect on the impact we’ve made for those facing food insecurity around the globe. Along with our partners, global members and Hunger Champions like you, we’re meeting essential needs and empowering life-changing progress for so many communities.

At this moment, Rise Against Hunger is responding to emergencies threatening food security for millions of people in the Philippines, India, Zimbabwe, Ukraine and more. We’re nourishing minds and bodies by providing our volunteer-packaged meals to partners in over 30 countries, where the meals support programs that can change the course of a child’s future.

Beyond the meals, we are investing in programming to create generational change for communities in countries worldwide. I’m particularly excited to share updates with you in the coming weeks about our work in Kenya so you can see a powerful example of how holistic programming changes lives by addressing health and wellbeing, investing in education and infrastructure and improving household incomes.

All of this impact is possible because, every single day, our league of Hunger Champions continues to grow. Volunteers around the world are giving their time, energy and resources because they believe in the possibility of ending hunger – one person, one family, one community at a time. I’m in awe of this movement to end hunger, and I'm so grateful for the essential contributions each one of you make to our mission.

While celebrating these accomplishments, we must in equal measure recognize the mounting challenges we face. This summer, the Food and Agriculture Organization reported that 733 million people continue to face hunger. Rising global conflict and increasing rates of natural disasters threaten the health and safety of millions. We face many unknowns that make providing a meal each day difficult or impossible for families around the world. In order to sustain our progress and continue forging a path forward, we must renew our commitment to meet the food security needs of those facing the most challenging circumstances.

As we enter our holiday giving season, we have a remarkable opportunity to make an impact in the lives of those we serve. In honor of World Food Day, will you make a contribution and support us in the fight to end world hunger? ([link removed] )
