Vice President Harris Claims She Would Not Do Anything Different Than President Biden
National Review: Kamala Harris can’t think of a single thing she would have done differently from President Joe Biden during her time serving as his vice president over the past four years. Harris appeared on The View Monday morning and host Sunny Hostin lightly asked her if there was something she would have handled differently from Biden, an important question for Harris down the stretch of the presidential campaign… Later on, Harris revisited the topic and sought to distinguish herself from Biden by reiterating her promise to appoint a Republican to her cabinet ( National Review). Trump War Room: “If anything, would you have done something differently than President Biden during the past four years?” KAMALA: “There is not a thing that comes to mind” ( X). Charlie Kirk: CNN just ROASTED Kamala for saying she wouldn’t have done anything different than Biden on The View: “I’m surprised, frankly, that she doesn’t have more to say about this…one of the main things she’s been trying to establish as part of her candidacy is the idea that she would represent a break from the past four years” ( X).

CBS Edited 60 Minutes Interview with VP Harris to Hide Latest Word Salad
Daily Mail: CBS News appears to have edited the 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris to show the Democratic 2024 hopeful in a more positive light. Social media erupted in criticism of the vice president’s ‘word salad’ response to a question about the Israeli-Hamas war. But after the episode aired on 60 Minutes on Monday night, the version that was put onto the show’s official YouTube page did not include Harris’ nonsensical answer and instead included a truncated and more straight-forward response ( Daily Mail). End Wokeness: 60 Minutes removed Kamala’s word salad in the latest version. 1984 is here ( X). Bill Ackman: Incredible. I spoke too soon about 60 Minutes. Also note how many breaks there are in her answers in the ‘full’ version of her interview ( X).

Kamala Harris Tried Banning the Very Gun She Owns
National Review: Harris didn’t say which type of Glock, and she wasn’t asked to elaborate. But, from her previous statements, we know that it’s a Glock handgun, and from her previous actions, we therefore know that it’s exactly the sort of firearm that, at two points in her career, she’s tried to prevent her fellow citizens from owning. Back when Harris was a district attorney in San Francisco, she backed Proposition H, which, had it not been struck down by the courts, would have banned all handguns in her city. Two years later, Harris signed onto an amicus brief in the case of D.C. v Heller that claimed that the Second Amendment contained no protections of the individual right to keep and bear arms, and argued that the city of Washington, D.C., could therefore ban all handguns if it so wished ( National Review). Kamala Harris: My background is in law enforcement. Yes, I own a glock ( X).

In Less Than Five Years Nearly 14,000 Minors Underwent Gender Transition Surgery
National Review: A medical watchdog organization released groundbreaking data on Tuesday revealing the number of total child sex-change interventions that have been administered in the U.S. in recent years, as well as the locations where the procedures are taking place. Do No Harm, a nonprofit that combats child gender transitions and discrimination in medicine, constructed a database quantifying the extent to which American children are receiving gender-transition procedures. From January 2019 to December 2023, 13,994 minor patients received gender-transition treatments, with 5,747 undergoing sex-change surgeries and 8,579 getting hormones and puberty blockers, according to Do No Harm’s database. A majority of the body-modification procedures were conducted on minors around the age of 15 ( National Review). Reporter Katelynn Richardson: Hospitals charged nearly $120 million over the five-year period ( X).

Kamala Harris’ Immigration Crisis Massively Burdens School Districts, Teachers
Reuters: More than half a million school-age migrant children have arrived in the U.S. since 2022, according to immigration court records collected by Syracuse University, exacerbating overcrowding in some classrooms; compounding teacher and budget shortfalls; forcing teachers to grapple with language barriers and inflaming social tensions in places unaccustomed to educating immigrant students. To gauge the impact of immigration on public schools across the U.S., Reuters sent a survey to more than 10,000 school districts. Of the 75 school districts that responded, serving a total of 2.3 million children or about 5% of the public school population, a third said the increase in immigrant children had had a “significant” impact on their school district ( Reuters). PJ Media: The border crisis is one of the most contentious yet important issues in this year’s election… Several districts mentioned that their teachers didn’t have sufficient training to handle the influx of immigrant kids, and most of the school systems that responded to the survey said they would welcome any training that they could get. Training issues included overcoming language and cultural barriers and helping kids deal with trauma ( PJ Media).

Interest Payments Soaring as U.S. Deficit Increases From Fiscal Year 2023
Wall Street Journal: The U.S. budget deficit topped $1.8 trillion in the latest fiscal year, driven by higher spending on interest and programs for older Americans, as the government faces a persistent gap between federal outlays and tax collections. The new data comes as Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and Democratic pick Kamala Harris are both proposing new tax and spending plans that are estimated to add trillions more to the deficit over the next decade. In all, the government collected $4.92 trillion in revenue and spent $6.75 trillion in the year that ended Sept. 30, according to the Congressional Budget Office, which issued its estimates ahead of the official administration tallies expected later this month. The deficit in 2023 was $1.7 trillion, which looked smaller than it actually was. That’s because the Supreme Court’s blocking of President Biden’s student-debt cancellation program was counted as more than $300 billion in reduced spending ( Wall Street Journal). Just the News: “We’re now borrowing $5 billion per day, while interest payments are soaring. At nearly $2 trillion, last year’s deficit was almost double pre-pandemic levels. We face massive headwinds with debt set to reach an all-time record as a share of the economy by 2027; and we don’t even have a plan to address our fiscal challenges,” said Maya MacGuineas, president of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. She noted that lawmakers will face new hurdles in 2025 in addition to rising deficits, debt and interest. The new challenges she mentioned included the reinstatement of the debt ceiling, the end of the Fiscal Responsibility Act’s budget caps, and major tax and spending expirations ( Just the News).

U.S. Soldiers Abandoned in Israel During October 7 Attack, U.S. Officials Reluctant to Bring Them Back
RedState: Forty U.S. Army soldiers who were in Israel as the advance team for what they thought was a routine training exercise last October 7 suddenly found themselves in the middle of a war, unarmed, and being forced to beg reluctant Pentagon officials to send an Air Force plane to extract them. Approximately a quarter of the soldiers were just miles from Gaza in off-base housing near the IDF’s Tze’elim base when the attack began. A group of local Israelis – IDF reservists, police officers, and ordinary citizens – got them to the base, which Hamas terrorists were quickly heading toward. With his men in mortal danger, the U.S. team leader requested permission to open the arms locker so they could retrieve their firearms but was denied at the US Central Command level and “denied and/or ignored” at a level above that, according to a military intelligence analyst with knowledge of the mission and exfiltration. The rest of the soldiers had just arrived in Tel Aviv, where Hamas rockets were hitting near their hotels. The military intelligence analyst told RedState: “With everything going on, with all kinds of indirect fire, with rockets, for a good six, eight hours those soldiers who were at Tze’elim were in very mortal danger and the military and civilian leadership at the Pentagon was perfectly willing to not even worry about it” ( RedState).

Maryland Police Station Agrees to $2.75 Million Settlement Over Black, Female Applicants Failing Tests
Daily Wire: The Maryland Department of State Police (MDSP) agreed to shell out $2.75 million in back pay to black applicants who failed a simple written test and female applicants who failed a basic physical test. Because black applicants failed the written test at a higher rate than white applicants, and female applicants failed the physical test at a higher rate than male applicants, the U.S. Department of Justice determined the tests were racist and sexist. Last week, the DOJ announced that it had reached a settlement agreement with the MDSP that included paying those who failed the test $2.75 million in back pay as if they would have been hired had they not failed the tests, and changing the tests so that equal numbers of black applicants and female applicants pass, among other provisions ( Daily Wire).
