Its heart-warming to hear in these unprecedented times of the valuable contributions older people are making up and down the country but especially in Nottingham. The efforts of individuals such as Captain Tom Wood have been inspiring and have made me reflect on the kindness and determination that is demonstrated on a daily basis by so many older people in Nottingham as they help others - thank you.
I would also like to thank all of you for abiding by the government guidelines [ [link removed] ] to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.
I hope you find the AFN Bulletin useful and if you have any suggestions on how it could improve, please email

*An update from TV Licensing *
Recognising some people are experiencing financial difficulties, TV Licensing has stopped all arrears letters going to those who have fallen behind on payments. If customers are in financial hardship and urgently need to stop a Direct Debit payment while the TV Licensing call centre is closed, they can cancel it with their bank (this can usually be done online). They would like to reassure people trying to pay that they will be able to pay retrospectively once back to normal.
Customers can still pay using a debit or credit card on the TV Licensing website or using their 24/7 automated telephone service, and new licences can also be set up online.
