Here's the rundown on EMILYs List women's races in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Florida:
Since Trump won Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania in 2016 only to lose all three in 2020, all eyes are on these midwest swing states this cycle. Sen. Tammy Baldwin (WI) and Rep. Elissa Slotkin (MI-SEN) are running to protect two critical U.S. Senate seats. Reps. Hillary Scholten (MI-03) and Susan Wild (PA-07) are fighting to hold their seats in two critical House races; Kristen McDonald Rivet (MI-08) is running to hold a blue seat; and Ashley Ehasz (PA-01) and Janelle Stelson (PA-10) are running strong campaigns to flip Republican-held seats.
Nevada is similarly competitive. In 2022, Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (NV) won reelection in Nevada by less than 1% while Republicans flipped the governor's seat. Sen. Jacky Rosen's (NV) reelection race will come down to the wire, too -- as will the races of Reps. Dina Titus (NV-01) and Susie Lee (NV-03) -- but with our support, I'm confident they can win.
This cycle, Florida is tightly competitive, with Republican incumbents growing more unpopular by the day after their efforts to ban abortion and limit access to care. That's why Debbie Murcarsel-Powell (FL-SEN) and Lucia Báez-Geller (FL-27) have a real shot to flip Republican-held seats and secure both Congressional majorities for Democrats — in fact, three recent polls show Murcarsel-Powell within the margin of error against her opponent, Sen. Rick Scott (R).
Our ability to win in these swing states will determine our ability to protect abortion access for millions of Americans, John.
