I’ve said time and time again: Steve Garvey is just way too conservative
for California.

Tonight we have our only debate of the general election, and I know he’s
going to pull out every stop to convince you he’s something other than a
MAGA GOP rubber stamp.

He voted for Trump. Three times. And he’s said he’s going to vote for
Trump again in November.

We have two vastly different visions for California.

My vision is one where we come together to tackle the most difficult
problems facing California. One where we provide adequate housing options,
protect the environment, put decisions about women’s reproductive rights
in their own hands instead of the government’s, and where higher education
is affordable for all who want it.

Steve’s vision for California is focused on dividing us. He pushes the
same old tired Republican playbook of saying that states should be free to
ban abortion, we should cut Social Security and Medicare, and the solution
to our climate problems is to drill baby, drill. Sounds pretty MAGA to me.

And are we really supposed to trust someone who won’t pay his taxes and
conceals their sources of income?

With Donald Trump at the top of the ticket, Republicans are preparing to
turn out in massive numbers for the election — and they are likely to give
Garvey a boost.
