Hey y’all/yinz/youse guyz,
Today marks FOUR SHORT WEEKS until Election Day… normally we like to ~Trust the Process~ around here, but if you’re freaking out a little, we are right there with you! Now that we’re getting into crunchtime, we have an important question—do you know everything you’re voting on?
We’re not just talking about your presidential pick…we’re talking about everything else. Those ballots are long! That’s why we’re excited to share that VSA’s Build Your Own Ballot Tool is back to help you learn more about ALL of the candidates and measures up and down your ballot!
You’re used to being in the spotlight during presidential elections, but there’s a lot more at stake in PA this year. Here's just some of what's on your ballot:
-
You can send Bob Casey back to the Senate and help Democrats win in key U.S. House races in PA-07, PA-08 and PA-10,
- You can make sure Dems hang onto their slim majority in the state House,
-
And youse guys can elect Malcolm Kenyatta as state Auditor General!
That’s a lot that yinz need to stay on top of, but this is where VSA’s Build Your Own Ballot Tool comes in! With this tool, you’ll be able to see all the candidates who will appear on your ballot, along with deeply researched bios and their stances on all the key issues. You’ll also get detailed explainers on all of the measures you’ll be voting on and be able to see when, where, and how you’re able to vote, depending on where you live.
As you read up on your options, you’ll be able to save your picks and create your very own sample ballot! Then, when you’re finished, you can save it to your phone or print it out, and bring it with you when you go to vote to help fill out your ballot! Think of it like your own little voting cheat sheet (except you made it yourself, so it’s not rly cheating at all)!
No more getting overwhelmed by all the options, or leaving the bottom half of your ballot blank—this makes it easier to vote up and down the ballot!
We heard a sobering stat recently—according to our friends at Sister District, down ballot Democratic candidates experience 80% ballot rolloff, compared to only 37% rolloff for Republicans. That’s because sometimes, well-meaning voters may feel unsure about their options and choose not to fill out the entire ballot. This means that downballot Democrats are at a major disadvantage.
We came up with this tool to try and fix that, but we need YOUR help to make sure people know it exists! So do us a favor: Share this tool in your family group chats, with your friends on social, and with your Kamala-curious coworker—whoever you think could use it!
With less than a month to go, NOW is the time to Build Your Own Ballot and make your plan to get to the polls. And remember, Election Day is the LAST day to cast your ballot, so get yours in early if you can! Go to votesaveamerica.com/vote now to get started.
With (brotherly) love,
Team VSA
