Our campaign just made a risky decision to launch new ads — even though the money wasn’t originally in our budget.

It wasn’t a decision we made lightly. But it was a necessary one.

My opponent and dark money super PACs have been relentlessly targeting me with misleading attack ads. Just turn on any TV in Wisconsin and you’ll know what I’m talking about…

Their ad blitz proves to be working too — with five recent polls showing this race tightening to within the margin of error, and RealClearPolitics even downgrading our race to a “Toss Up.”

If we can’t make up the unexpected deficit in our budget, we could have to pull back our ad reservations or make cuts to our critical voter outreach efforts.
