Patriot,
Every time I read an article about the devastation across the southeastern United States, I am torn between outrage at the federal
government and admiration for the strength of the survivors and generosity of their fellow Americans.
The devastation we are witnessing is staggering, almost too much to take in. . .
Yet, the stories of survival and the generosity of volunteers providing their labor, supplies, and donations are inspiring and
give hope.
THIS is the way it should be – neighbors helping neighbors.
But at the same time, it’s outrageous to witness how our federal government blows through
our money – billions
and billions at a time – for every kind of outrageous boondoggle, foreign misadventure, and subsidy for illegal aliens, leaving nothing for
Americans when tragedy strikes.
When American taxpayers’ homes and lives are literally washed away, the federal government claims to have virtually
nothing left for them.
This is only the tip of the iceberg. I could go on for pages with example after example.
A shocking, seemingly endless amount of money for foreigners, corporate lobbyists, and every special interest in the swamp.
Under the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act,”
the feds wasted $8 BILLION for ONE electric
vehicle charging station and
$42.5 BILLION to deliver broadband to rural communities even though they haven’t even broken
ground yet!
Only a few days ago, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris announced they are sending
$157 million of your tax dollars to
Lebanon.
And just
last month, FEMA’s Disaster Relief Fund monthly report revealed that
nearly $4 BILLION was spent on
“COVID-19 aid,” the most of any month since October 2023.
Billions of dollars for Big Pharma, for a pandemic that’s been over for years, to countries halfway around the globe, while
Helene victims are struggling and about to get battered again by Hurricane Milton.
FEMA is now claiming it doesn’t have the money to manage another emergency. . .
. . . Despite the fact Congress just passed a funding bill including $20 billion to FEMA in September!
Just over one week into this tragedy, most military helicopter crews are grounded.
And at least initially, many civilians with helicopters were ordered NOT to intervene and save lives.
Meanwhile, Kamala Harris made a campaign stop to be interviewed on a sex podcast, and Joe Biden spent time on the beach in
Delaware.
If you’ve ever doubted the priorities of the U.S. government, this is a clarifying moment.
You and I have known all along the government is not our friend. But for many average, hard-working Americans who aren’t
immersed in the liberty movement, this is a shock.
They’re finding out the hard way that all the money they pay in taxes is not used for their benefit, no matter how dire
their situation is.
In fact, in a leaked Zoom call, FEMA officials were actually heard plotting to withhold aid to suffering American families:
“We should focus our efforts on LGBTQIA people… they struggled before the
storm.”
“FEMA relief is no longer about getting the greatest good for the greatest amount of people…. It's about disaster
equity.”
“The shift that we’re seeing right now is the shift in emergency management from utilitarian principles where
everything is designed for the greatest good, for the greatest amount of people, to disaster equity, uh, but we have to do
more.”
It’s unspeakable.
And Americans are suffering
right now.
So, Patriot, today we are asking you to
support a private organization that is providing immediate, on-the-ground relief to
hurricane victims.
You may know of organizations you can trust. We have heard firsthand reports of great work being done by
Samaritans
Purse,
Cajun Navy Relief, and
numerous churches in the disaster zone.
If you know of other organizations you can trust,
donate to them.
In the future, we will discuss demanding the government end the rotten scam that FEMA is . . . but that’s for another day.
For now, just help the hurricane victims, or support those individuals and organizations who are doing so.
If the federal government wasn’t stealing a third of all the wealth we earn, those people
left with NOTHING might have had a great deal more left in the bank to rebuild their lives. We would all have so much more to provide support to those
bringing REAL aid.
The government is not keeping us safe from hurricanes. It’s not providing relief from hurricanes.
It’s
monopolizing power, just as it always does.
FEMA even had the audacity to put up a web page accusing people of “disinformation.” They’re truly shameless.
As Ron Paul has long argued, FEMA should be abolished.
In horrible situations like what we are witnessing now, we should see more neighbor helping neighbor and less big government
spending billions but doing nothing.
But for the moment, with so many Americans experiencing the worst natural disasters in years, let’s focus for the moment on
helping them.
Whatever charity you know and trust, they need your help today.
Thanks for all you do,
John McCardell
