This is important. We're all in this together.

Dear john,

UT is taking on OU this weekend, but we’re focused on another battle: electing pro-worker candidates up and down the ballot!

Read on to find out how you can get involved.

What you need to know:

Solidarity works: The International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) strike ended last week after just four days, with the workers securing 62.5 percent wage increases and other concessions. Texas labor proudly supported these courageous workers, including thousands in Houston, on the picket line and now congratulates them on this huge victory. Let this be a lesson: when we all stand in solidarity and take on corporate greed together, we WIN!

Who else stood with striking dockworkers? Labor-backed U.S. Senate candidate Colin Allred. His opponent, billionaire puppet Ted Cruz, was nowhere to be found. That’s why Colin Allred has the endorsement of Texas Labor. As our union brother, we know he’ll fight for us in the Senate and work to deliver real wins for working Texans.

We have the momentum to elect Allred to the Senate. A major elections analysis firm just changed the race from Likely Republican to Lean Republican – a sign that Ted Cruz’s support is weakening. On top of that, Allred just raised a whopping $30 million in the third quarter of the year, outraising Cruz by $9 million in the same period.

With this race closer than ever, Texas Labor is pulling out all the stops to elect Allred and other pro-worker candidates up and down the ballot. We’re activating union members to talk to voters in union households and get out the vote for candidates who will fight for working Texans, from the state house to the White House.

Across the state, our local labor bodies and affiliates are hosting phone banks, text banks, and block walks every week from now until the election. They need our help to reach members – will you join us?

Our vote is our voice, and Texas Labor will be heard in November!

With billionaires lining up behind Donald Trump and J.D. Vance and pouring money into our state elections to elect anti-labor candidates, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Our goal is to contact nearly 100,000 union households – and we need your help.

Can we count on you to join the fight?

In Solidarity,

Team Texas AFL-CIO
