Friend, I’ve got about half a century of politics under my belt, so you can trust me when I say this: Rick Scott poses one of the single greatest threats to our democracy and everything that we Democrats care about — full stop.

Now I’m known for making some pretty bold statements, but this is no exaggeration: Rick Scott is pushing an agenda so extreme, even Mitch McConnell wants nothing to do with it. I’m talking about ending Social Security and Medicare, raising taxes on working families, a national ban on abortions, and so much more.

I’m scared half to death thinking about what could happen if we give this guy 6 more years in Washington — especially with MAGA extremists on the cusp of retaking the Senate. But right now, Democrat Debbie Mucarsel-Powell is falling dangerously short of her critical $500,000 fundraising goal ahead of her midnight deadline. I’m asking you to take the gloves off and go on the offensive with me: Please, will you donate $5 or more to help Debbie flip Florida blue and save our Senate majority?

Listen, just about anyone can see that a blue wave is building in Florida. As folks from all across the state rally behind Debbie’s campaign, polling data shows that this race against extremist Rick Scott is a dead heat.

And that barely scratches the surface: Even with the extreme abortion ban officially in effect, Florida Democrats secured a reproductive rights ballot initiative this November and won a critical special election, flipping a pivotal state House district from red to blue.

That’s why Democratic leaders like my friend Chuck Schumer, and even President Biden, are all in on Florida this year. They’ve announced HUGE investments to make sure that voters learn the truth about Rick Scott’s record. This state is ready to flip blue — but we’ve all got to have Debbie’s back in this fight.

So I’m asking one final time: PLEASE, will you donate $5 or as much as you can spare right now to make sure that Debbie has everything that she needs to take on Rick Scott and defeat him?
