Hi John,
Here's a fact you may not know: Only 1 in 5 people with disabilities, including autistic people, are employed across the country — even though many of these folks have the skills and desire to join the workforce.
Here's something you can DO about it: Join Autism Speaks as we recognize National Disability Employment Awareness Month this October with a limited-time 2X match, up to $30,000! Your doubled gift will help create more employment opportunities for autistic job seekers and help more employers create inclusive workplaces, so please, make TWICE the impact right now →
Alex Astrella, who you see pictured above, was diagnosed with autism at age two. Doctors told Alex's family that he may not graduate high school, go to college or hold down a job — ever.
But Alex defied those predictions — and then some!
Thanks to comprehensive resources, early intervention, the support of his family and friends and, most importantly, his own determination, Alex has proved that people on the spectrum are capable of anything. Now a college graduate with a master's degree, Alex has discovered his passion and calling in the world of filmmaking. He even founded his own production company, Blu Star Productions!
Here at Autism Speaks, we are driven by the core belief that every person with autism deserves the same opportunities and open doors as Alex. But to create a world where every autistic job seeker who wants a job can get one, we need passionate and purposeful supporters like you, John.
For a limited time, your donation will be 2X MATCHED in honor of National Disability Employment Awareness Month. Donate now to help more autistic job seekers reach their full potential.
Thank you,
Josh Cobbs
