John -- I’ve emailed a few times before on Lucy’s behalf, so you may remember me.

I’m a gun safety activist, a “father on a mission,” and a member of the same club Lucy McBath is in -- the club that nobody wants to join… having your child killed in cold blood by a violent person with a gun.

Since Lucy ran for Congress and stood up for the Parkland community, I’ve come to know her as an ally and leader in our gun safety movement. So when Lucy asked me to do a virtual event this Saturday, May 9th at 2pm with her, of course I said yes!

Here’s my story: On the morning of February 14, 2018, I was just a dad getting his kids ready for school and out the door in the morning.

I never thought it would be the last time I would hug my daughter Jaime… But, it was.

I had never thought about being an activist, about lobbying our politicians, or about sitting in hearings in Washington D.C. That all changed the moment Jaime was murdered in the hallways of her high school in the Parkland shooting.

John -- this fight is personal to me. It’s personal to Lucy. We’re still parents to Jaime and Jordan, and we’re still fighting to carry on their legacies. I hope to be able to share more with you at Saturday's event. See you there?
