John --

I decided to run for the U.S. Senate because too many politicians these days work for extreme special interests instead of hard-working Alaskans.

How some of our politicians treat senior citizens, people with disabilities, and working families is a clear example of that.

In Washington, Mitch McConnell has made it clear he wants to cut "programs like Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security" in order to pay for the $1.5 trillion in tax cuts politicians gave to huge corporations and the very wealthy.

And we know which way Dan Sullivan would vote if McConnell gets his wish -- Sullivan votes McConnell's way 97% of the time.

Today is the anniversary of the federal Social Security Act, and I can't think of a better way to honor its important legacy than to have all of us rise up together to protect the few programs left that give working folks economic security, dignity, and access to affordable health care.

John, add your name to the petition to tell Mike Dunleavy, Mitch McConnell, and Dan Sullivan to stop their attacks on seniors and to protect critical programs like Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare.

I'm a commercial fisherman and doctor. I don't owe the special interests anything. I'll be a U.S. Senator who fights to protect Social Security and make health care more affordable for everyone.

Thank you,

Dr. Al Gross
