The Modes of Exchange Video Series, Part 2 - Mode of Exchange A: Gift & Reciprocity ([link removed] )
Video 2 of the Modes of Exchange video series builds on one of the Modes of Exchange introduced in Part 1 - Introduction: Wayfinding in Troubled Times ([link removed] ) . It explores the gifts and contradictions present in Gift & Reciprocity, which was the dominant way that societies exchanged with each other for thousands of years before the onset of empires and capitalism.
By viewing history through the lens of the Modes of Exchange, we can gain an appreciation for the feelings of solidarity, unity, and belonging brought about by Mode of Exchange A while also recognizing some of its limitations and how we can transcend these when building new forms of reciprocity.

This is the second part of a 6-part video series on Kojin Karatani's Modes of Exchange. Making this information accessible and available does incur a cost - from script writing, to recording, to production, editing, animation etc. We are blessed and lucky to have found an incredible animator/editor who has helped us make these videos at a reduced rate - all of the money raised in this campaign will go towards her work. The rest of the costs of production will come from us. However, we cannot complete the series without your support in making it a reality.
If you watched the video and agree with the need for a new political ideology that can help us transcend our current social formation, please donate ([link removed] ) so that we can complete the production of the next video in the series on Mode of Exchange B, Plunder & Redistribution.
If you have ever felt the need for yourself or your organization to deeply understand the current political, social, and economic foundations of our current system, as well as its weaknesses, this framework is for you. We hope that you join us on this historical journey for a new political ideology.
In reciprocity,
The Ayni Team
