AI Assistants: Helpful, or full of hype? - Spotlight on Ada Lovelace Institute

The rapid corporate adoption of AI assistants has raised pressing ethical questions and significant privacy concerns. At a systemic level, their capacity to shift how media and information are delivered in online environments poses economic and competition risks.

For Trust Conference this year, we've partnered with the Ada Lovelace Institute (ALI) - an independent research institute - to explore best practices and processes to ensure AI systems operate safely and legally. In the coming months, ALI is embarking on a project to analyse how AI Assistants work; the benefits and risks of their use; and how our legal and policy landscape should adapt to address the challenges raised by their introduction.

Read more about this in their latest blog – ‘AI assistants: Helpful or full of hype?’.
