Dear Indiana Republicans -
Last night, Indiana Democrats got a little national attention, but for all the wrong reasons.
Embarrassing mistakes from Indiana Democrats aren't anything new, even just this year. First, they had trouble collecting enough signatures for a candidate to make the ballot (barely making the cutoff just in time). Then their candidate, Woody Myers, reported incorrect fundraising numbers. And the disarray continued just last month when Woody attempted a COVID-19 photo-op that fell flat.
But last night might just take the cake, as they can’t find anyone…anyone…to take the second spot on their statewide ticket to run for lieutenant governor. Yesterday was the deadline for a Democrat lieutenant governor candidate to file, and nobody filed. This forced their state committee to call an emergency late-night meeting where they extended the deadline to this Friday.
