Last Thursday, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R - Fla.) introduced a bill — the BARRIER Act — to punish organizations that advocate for immigrants in the United States, blaming them in part for "the destruction of [the] country."

Fox News then singled us out, saying, “If enacted, immigration groups like the National Immigration Law Center [...] would likely lose their federal grants."

These anti-immigrant zealots are so threatened by our work, they are trying to shut us down. Help us fight back by making a donation today.

Unsurprisingly, Rep. Gaetz and Fox News have gotten many things wrong. So, let’s set the record straight: NILC does not receive federal aid. We rely on donations from folks like YOU. It’s because of you that we are able to defend DACA at the Supreme Court, protect the rights of immigrant children to attend public schools, and challenge other unjust laws.

It is these types of extremist attacks and toxic rhetoric that threaten our communities — and therefore our work — and we must respond with force.
