Hello Friend,
As San Franciscans work hard to flatten the curve, it takes a
stable and collaborative leader to help guide us through this
unprecedented situation. Board President Norman Yee has worked
tirelessly with all elected officials and community leaders in our
city to ensure that we have the resources necessary to get through
these tough times together.
Recently, Mayor London Breed and President Norman Yee announced an
80-member Economic Recovery Task Force to ensure that our workers and
small businesses are protected and to help San Francisco recover from
the large percentage of unemployment caused by the COVID-19
pandemic.
President Norman Yee and I have worked closely on numerous issues
that our city has faced over the last four years. While we face an
imminent crisis, we cannot lose sight of the pressing issues our city
faces on a daily basis such as relieving the housing crisis,
protecting worker’s rights, creating an environment for small
businesses to thrive and championing care for children. Particularly,
President Norman Yee has done incredible work to safeguard child care
facilities and ensure that child care workers are paid a living wage
throughout San Francisco. I hope to carry that torch and continue this
important work that President Norman Yee has started. We have both had
a bold vision for our city and a record of delivering on that
vision.
That is why I am proud to
announce that President Norman Yee has endorsed our campaign for
re-election.
It feels strange to even have to remind ourselves that we have an
election coming up in November and it means the world to me to have
President Norman Yee’s support.
My team and I have been working around the clock to make sure that
folks in our district have all essential resources. We successfully
opened another food distribution site with the SF Marin Food Bank at
the Minnie & Lovie Recreation Center every Saturday from 9am-1pm.
Through private donations, we have obtained 6,000 masks that we have
been distributing to our residents to make sure that they can stay
protected.
I am doing everything I can to make sure that our district and San
Francisco makes it through these times. I hope that I can count on
your support this November so that I can continue to deliver for our
district and all San Franciscans.
Sincerely,
Ahsha
