Your weekly Indivisible Newsletter Indivisibles,
With only 29 days until the election, the future of our democracy teeters on a razor’s edge. As early voting begins across the nation -- with 9 states already underway -- we find ourselves caught in a spiral of constant news-watching and poll-checking, fueled by the burning question: Will we win??? The truth is -- we don't know!
As Leah wrote over the weekend: “We’re tantalizingly close to a win that can deliver a Harris presidency and the Democratic majorities needed to enshrine reproductive freedom, democracy reform and voting rights, and a bold economic agenda to help working families…
And we’re also terrifyingly close to a loss that puts the architects of Project 2025 in office and us back in a desperate fight for our democracy.”
We are faced with a clear choice, not just between candidates, but between two diverging paths for our nation. And let's be unequivocal -- the outcome hinges not on fate, but on the effort each of us is willing to put in.
Now is not the time for hesitation or doubt. It’s time for work.
So let’s make these final weeks count. Whether it's making calls, texting voters, or knocking on doors, your participation can -- and will -- make the difference.
With that, read on for your weekly to-dos:

Preventing Another January 6th
Register for our National Call featuring Rep. Jamie Raskin, our own Ezra Levin, and the creators of The Sixth tomorrow, October 8 at 8pm ET/5pm PT. We’re opening up our final Majority Over MAGA Action Team call to the full Indivisible network because we think this is a panel you won’t want to miss. January 6th was a modern tragedy and a dire showing of the lengths to which MAGA extremists will stretch to hijack our democracy. Hear from Rep. Jamie Raskin -- who was in the Capitol during the attempted insurrection -- alongside Ezra Levin and the powerhouse duo behind The Sixth documentary, filmmakers Andrea Nix Fine and Sean Fine. Join us tomorrow as we dissect the dark shadow of that day and light up the path forward, making sure nothing close to January 6th ever happens again.
Women Wednesdays for Harris
Register for Women Wednesdays for Harris this Wednesday at 8:30pm ET/5:30pm PT and every week through the election. This week, we’ll be celebrating and uplifting women organizers doing crucial work in red states -- and talking about how folks in blue states can lend a hand. Know someone who lives in a red state? Bring them along or pass this email on to them!
We’ll hear from special guests like Tennessee State Rep. Gloria Johnson, actress Gina Torres, and activists on the front lines of these organizing efforts about how they are overcoming party polarization to bring people together over shared values and a positive vision for the future.
Every Wednesday through Election Day, we will be partnering on a national call bringing together women from all across the country to build community, strategize, and share tools to drive a Harris victory in November.

A Message from Indivisible's Leah Greenberg on the One-Year Anniversary of the October 7th Attack
**Content Warning: Talk about the current humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Jump to the line break if you need to avoid this topic.** |
“Today, we mourn the Israeli, American, and other lives taken in Hamas’ horrific attack of October 7th, and stand with the victims -- those who lost their lives, lost family, were taken hostage and have been killed since, and those who remain in captivity. We join with the families of remaining hostages in calling for their immediate release and for a ceasefire deal that would bring them home. We recognize the pain of this day for our Jewish community and members, compounded by the rise in antisemitism around the world, and hold in our hearts everyone who is grieving for family or friends lost or harmed.
In the year since October 7th, the Netanyahu government’s military response has taken an horrendous toll on Gaza’s people, with tens of thousands of civilians killed, overwhelming numbers of families displaced, large-scale risk of starvation, and suffering on an almost unfathomable scale. Again, a ceasefire and step back from the regional escalation currently underway is desperately needed. And we commit ourselves to linking arms with our Muslim and Arab community members to oppose the dangerous rise of Islamophobia and anti-Arab bigotry, both in the US and globally.
None of this was inevitable. The path to safety and dignity for Israelis and Palestinians alike depends on a different course.
The souls lost in the past year deserve a justice that political leadership has not provided. Extremists on both sides of this conflict have put their political agendas ahead of innocent lives. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has repeatedly undermined efforts to chart a path for peace and security for everyone in the region -- instead pursuing a brutal military campaign in Gaza that indiscriminately kills Palestinian civilians, including children, refugees, and hospital patients. While families of Israeli hostages beg him to prioritize the return of their loved ones, he instead puts his own political goals first.
Netanyahu’s destructive path has unfortunately received continued support and legitimization from the US government, in the form of diplomatic efforts at the UN and through the direct provision and sale of ammunition, bombs, and other military supplies. While humanitarian aid is restricted by Israeli military operations, the weapons continue to flow unabated. This falls short of our human rights obligations, and pushes further into the future the day when everyone in Israel, Palestine and the entire region can live in safety, security, and dignity.
The October 7th of today is also a day of mourning. A different path has been available and can still be taken. Indivisible continues to urge the Biden administration to use all the tools and leverage at their disposal to put an immediate end to the bloodshed and finally begin working towards peace.”
