With time quickly running out before Election Day – just 29 days to go! – there are a few things you should know about Tony Wied, the Trump-backed Republican running against Kristin Lyerly in this open seat.
He’d let states ban abortion outright – even in cases of rape or incest. He’s refused to stand up for reproductive health care, even as the consequences of such abortion bans are becoming more clear by the day.
He’s not just a right-wing extremist backed by Trump – he’s got Trump’s back in return. He’d be a rubber stamp for Trump’s ultra-conservative agenda. We can’t let Republicans put Project 2025 into action.
He’s pitched in hundreds of thousands of dollars to his own campaign. While Kristin’s campaign is powered by tens of thousands of grassroots supporters giving an average of less than $30, Tony Wied gave his campaign more than half a million dollars to prop up his agenda of putting money in his friends’ pockets.
Despite his own personal wealth, a gas station he owned was sued for not paying its bills and for stealing utilities from a neighbor – and he even overcharged for gas during the pandemic. While working Wisconsin families struggled, Tony Wied profited.
