We want mothers, moms, grannies, aunties, and all care-givers everywhere to get some extra love and care this Mother’s Day—and we need your help to spread our gratitude far and wide!

Will you help us do something special this Mother’s Day, John?

The COVID-19 crisis has made it abundantly clear that women and femmes are not only doing the majority of caregiving responsibilities for children and elderly – they are also holding the majority of essential jobs.1

We’re in awe of the brave women who are taking great personal risks to care for patients, stock grocery shelves, and keep our communities running – many while also taking care of a family.

That’s why we want mothers, moms, grannies, aunties, and all caregivers everywhere to feel some extra love and care this Mother’s Day — and we need your help to spread our gratitude far and wide!

We’re looking for volunteers beginning this Saturday, May 9th to help spread the message that WOMEN ARE ESSENTIAL. Will you sign up to put a poster in your window, hold a car parade, or make your own message of appreciation?

The day before Mother’s Day, we’re calling on Women’s Marchers to:

  • Distribute thank you posters in your neighborhoods (contactless delivery of course)
  • Make your own messages of appreciation
  • Hold a car parade in your town to spread the message even further

After you sign up we’ll send you an easy-to-use toolkit with sample posters and tips for distributing posters or planning a car parade!

Mother’s Day was founded as a call for women across the globe to link arms against war and militarism. Anna Reeves Jarvis coined the concept in 1858, starting various Mothers’ Day Work Clubs to organize for parental education, disease prevention, and sanitation improvements.

We want to get back to those roots and we know that it will take more of us linking arms and lifting each other up to get there.

This Mother’s Day weekend, let’s make sure the country hears us when we say: Women are essential. Teachers are essential. Farmworkers are essential. Health care workers are essential. Grocery store shelf stockers are essential.

Sign up now to let us know you’re in and we’ll send you everything you need to get started.

Thank you,

Kate and the entire Women’s March team
