Why we are 350: Scientists overwhelmingly agree that 350ppm CO2 is the upper limit to sustain life as humans have lived it. For more than 800,000 years atmospheric CO2 varied between roughly 180 to 280ppm.

But AI technology comes with enormous energy demands, and your data center is on the verge of being used to push Wisconsin backwards in the fight for clean energy and safe, healthy air.

Right now, We Energies is planning to meet energy demand for the Microsoft data center by spending billions of dollars to build new methane gas power plants and pipelines. It’s a massive buildout that will push our state’s climate goals out of reach, locking us into 30 more years of fossil fuels at a time when we all know we must rapidly transition to clean energy."

Fossil fuel companies knew about the threat of the climate crisis decades ago. Yet, over the course of nearly forty years, these companies spent millions of dollars to spread doubt and misinformation about the dangers of fossil fuels— robbing a generation’s worth of time to transition our economy onto renewable energy. The recent tape revealing Exxon’s lobbying practices proves the industry’s disinformation campaign is still active and well.
 
That’s why Rep. Ro Khanna and 350.org are demanding that top fossil fuel executives testify in front of Congress — even if it requires subpoenaing them. And with Rep. Ro Khanna being the Chair of the Environmental Oversight Subcommittee, he’s eager to hold these Big Oil and Gas executives accountable. Will you join us in calling for a hearing to finally hold Big Oil executives accountable?
