Hey John, it’s Sianay, NextGen’s National Partnerships & Political Manager.

I pay pretty close attention to politics -- it’s literally my job. I know how politicians think, and I generally know what to expect from them when Election Day looms large, especially when it comes to young voters of color.

A lot of politicians start making promises -- many of them empty -- to court our votes. They understand that they need our support at the ballot box to get elected, but when it’s time to uplift our communities and deliver on the issues that got them elected, they ghost us.

No matter who wins this election, young voters of color have to hold them accountable.

That means addressing the issues that get us to the ballot box in the first place. If you’re voting with a purpose next month, will you let us know what issues will be top of mind for you when you cast your ballot: [link removed]

Young voters don’t just have the power to decide elections; we have the potential to reshape the political landscape.

It’s been proven again and again: When we mobilize, change happens.

What’s important to us has to be important to our elected officials too. So let us know: What issues will you be focusing on at the polls: [link removed]
