Friend,
On Friday, I announced that Jim McDonnell will be serving as the next Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department and I wanted to share with you why.
We must continue taking urgent action to keep all Angelenos safe. Chief McDonnell is a leader, he's an innovator and he's a change maker. During our press conference, he pledged to grow and strengthen LAPD, deepen relationships with communities across the city, and make sure that Los Angeles is vigilant and prepared for anything that comes our way.
Chief McDonnell has served for more than forty years in the public safety profession and is the first person to serve in senior executive leadership positions in the three largest policing agencies in Los Angeles County. Not only that, during his tenure, all three agencies saw a reduction in crime and improved police-community relations.
We've already met with more than 100 LAPD officers as well as constituents from all over L.A.
It's a new day in Los Angeles. If you are ready to join us as we take action to make L.A. safer, click here to support our work.
