Hi John,

Greenpeace and transport experts are calling on the UK government to trial a new monthly ‘climate card’ scheme that would make rail fares cheaper and simpler to encourage train travel and help reduce emissions. [1]

It’s a really exciting initiative and we want to know what you think?

Take a short survey: [link removed]

Did you know that transport is the UK’s most polluting sector? [2] We need to help people onto public transport to reduce car use, which would relieve congestion and pollution on roads.

For £49 a month, users of the climate railcard would have unlimited access to train travel across Britain, with the exception of high-speed long distance services and London, where an add-on would apply. [3]

This would simplify the ticketing system and could save some commuters and car drivers hundreds of pounds per month - similar schemes have been very successful in other European countries. It would also benefit our health by reducing pollution from car use and boost our economy.

Why should you fill out the survey? Your feedback is really important, we want to know if you support the climate railcard, and get any further thoughts from you to help shape our future campaigning on public transport in general. It only takes about 3 minutes to complete.

Give your feedback: [link removed]

If the Labour government is looking for a bold idea that helps people with the cost of living, tackles the climate crisis, and evens out regional inequalities, this could be it. You can find out more about the climate railcard here: [link removed]

Thanks for all you do and best wishes,

Jack Bullett
