** Kids Online Safety Act
------------------------------------------------------------

Despite a resounding measure of support in the Senate, (91-3, if we want to be specific), the Kids Online Safety Act did not get taken up for a vote before the House went into recess. It's disappointing, though hardly surprising.

It had been reported immediately after the Energy and Commerce's hearing that leadership was skeptical of taking it up, and of course, they decided to focus on funding the government through the election instead.

We supported KOSA and expect to continue supporting it whether it comes up before or after the next Congress is gaveled into session.

META's new "teen account" features ([link removed]) on Instagram are an encouraging sign for us. According to the reports, Instagram will be adding additional parental control settings for under 17s and adding in additional privacy and messaging settings.

Government pressure works, people!

** Countdown to November
------------------------------------------------------------

As everyone anxiously awaits the arrival (and outcome) of November 5th, we're doubling down on our support for upcoming leaders.

We have 18 endorsements for the November elections, and all but 4 are for state and local positions. Some of them are in for tough fights, but all have the full confidence of the Bull Moose Project team, and more importantly, share a positive vision of change.

It's extremely easy to fall into the gloom and despair that often coats national politics and the personalities involved. I might be further along that path too if I did not have the privilege to meet, work with, and support the best upcoming leaders this country has to offer. Believe it or not, there is a wealth of goodwill and humanity in our leadership, but it's young.
