Last Friday, Lily Tang Williams, the Republican Nominee for New Hampshire’s Second Congressional District, signed the Stand With Women Commitment to support women’s access to single-sex spaces and opportunities when fairness, equality, and safety are at stake.
By signing IWV’s Stand With Women Commitment, Lily Tang Williams promises “to support legislation that preserves female opportunities and private spaces.”
With her signing today, Williams has earned an ‘approved’ score on The Riley Gaines Stand with Women Scorecard, a first-of-its-kind resource that scores every candidate for federal office on whether they intend to support legislation that stands up against the increasing threats to women’s rights, safety, and opportunities.
The Biden-Harris administration’s new administrative rule, which took effect August 1, unilaterally redefines Title IX’s sex-based protections to apply to “gender identity.” The rules pressure schools to let males who identify as women to take women’s scholarships and roster spots. Williams’s commitment to acknowledge sex-based differences between males and females preserves equal opportunity for women and girls in all aspects of education, including in sports.
“Growing up in Communist China, I was canceled as a woman and not allowed to show my femininity. That is why I am so proud to earn the Riley Gaines Stand with Women Scorecard recognition that reflects my promise to always protect women’s sports, opportunities, safety, and privacy,” said Lily Tang Williams. “I will not stand by and allow the left to diminish women by allowing biological men to compete against female athletes. It’s not right.”
“With her Stand With Women Commitment signing, Lily Tang Williams is sending a clear message that she will prioritize women’s rights in New Hampshire, from preserving women’s sports to protecting single-sex spaces like locker rooms, dormitories, and domestic violence shelters. We need more candidates like Williams who are unapologetic in their willingness to stand up for women and girls,” said Riley Gaines, IWV Ambassador and host of Outkick’s ‘Gaines For Girls’.
The Stand with Women Commitment lets Americans know who is pro-woman, pro-science, and will fight for policies that prevent sex discrimination and preserve women’s rights, safety, and opportunities. It is part of IWV’s Hope Agenda to offer solutions on some of the most important issues that women, as well as Independents, Hispanics, and younger Americans, care deeply about and want addressed.
Lily’s campaign has earned the endorsement of leaders across New Hampshire and the nation, including New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik and Protect Freedom PAC.
Lily has also earned the endorsement of 53 members of the New Hampshire state legislature, Gun Owners of America, US Parents Involved in Education, the New Hampshire Conservative Majority Project, and more. Find a full list of campaign endorsements on her website.
