This is what Sir Keir Starmer, in his first speech as Prime Minister, promised to do. It will be a tall order given current levels of public mistrust in UK politics. 

Unless Mr Starmer’s government can fulfil the promises they made to the public in their election campaigning, they will struggle to restore faith in politics.
