Friends -
For those of you not following every detail of my Senate race, I wanted to let you know that tomorrow night I'll be debating my opponent, Mike Rogers, for the first time.
As a refresher, despite painting himself as a moderate in the 20 years he was a politician, he has done what so many have unfortunately done before him: said whatever he thinks he needs to now to win this seat. In many cases, that means giving up on portraying himself as a moderate and touting Trump’s extreme positions as an election denier. In other cases, he thinks his 20-year voting record won't matter and he has tried to position himself as more reasonable on things like the issue of choice.
But one thing about debates is that there is a lot of preparation and practice before the actual event.
So the last week has been all about "debate prep."
It also means there's virtually no time for fundraising. That's fine. It is not my favorite part of the job by any stretch. But it also means I am hoping supporters like you can help fill that gap.
It's especially important given the recent outside spending against us and the need to be ready for anything that comes our way after the debate.
